EDUCATION OUTREACH

Community education efforts include a variety of venues to increase awareness and understanding about HIV/AIDS. These efforts include:

Helping Ignorance Vanish (HIV) Classes
HIV classes are offered at the Colorado Springs S-CAP location every second Thursday from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., and by reservation only. Please call or email to reserve your spot or make a reservation.

Speakers Bureau
Trained S-CAP staff and volunteers provide education to the community on issues related to HIV transmission, the course of the disease process, and the impact that HIV/AIDS has on the person living with HIV and his/her support system. The presentations are designed to meet the specific needs and concerns of the agency or group requesting education, and the presenting panel usually includes a person living with HIV/AIDS in order to convey the psychosocial impact of the disease.
