REPORTS TO: Chief Development Officer


Colorado Health Network, Inc. (CHN) is a state wide organization which includes Denver Colorado AIDS Project, Northern Colorado AIDS Project, Southern Colorado AIDS Project, Western Colorado AIDS Project, Howard Dental Center, HeyDenver and Access Point Colorado.


The Development Manager is a supervisory and multidisciplinary position – supporting the various Annual Fundraising programs of the organization to include data management, direct mail, special events, marketing, donor and community stewardship along with targeted programs such as planned giving and monthly giving.

Annual Fundraising Event(s)

  • Work with the Chief Development Officer and Directors of Regional Programs and staff to implement major fundraising events
  • Serve as Day of Event Manager for assigned events
  • Identify and recruit corporate and foundation sponsors for events
  • Secure silent auction commitments
  • Provide logistical support for events and committee meetings
  • Assist event promotion through electronic/social media - website
  • Develop and implement strategies to encourage new or increased contributions
  • Recruit, empower, and mobilize volunteers
  • Manage electronic reservation system for events and donor data base
  • Coordinate stewardship activities for event donors and sponsors


Direct Mail

  • Work with staff and members of the Development team to design and implement direct mail promotions.


Marketing & Communications

  • Work with the Development and Management team in creation of marketing and communications campaigns for the agency and for materials specific to events.
  • Support the development of agency publications and collateral (annual report, brochures, newsletters, etc.)

The ability to establish and cultivate strong relationships that translate to donors and volunteers.

The ability to effectively work with staff and volunteers to engage them in the fundraising

Creative, strategic and organized thinker with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and
projects simultaneously.


Bachelor degree in marketing, communications, business or nonprofit management, plus five years of progressive fundraising or related experience.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience of fundraising techniques and sources of funding for nonprofit agencies and organizations.

Ability to organize and coordinator fundraising activities with multiple deadlines.
Ability to lift 25 pounds and to work inside or outside moving and setting-up equipment over long periods of time.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and computer/office equipment operation.

Experience with fundraising, contact management or other database software preferred. Must be able to learn Raiser’s Edge fundraising software and Blackbaud Sphere/Kintera in a timely manner.

Ability to successfully work independently and as a member of a team.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Willingness and ability to work with diverse populations - persons living with HIV, the GLBTQ community, persons of various ethnic backgrounds, disenfranchised communities.

Must have and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license and auto insurance.

Experience with HIV/AIDS preferred.

Graphic/Design skills a plus.
