You probably know someone who is HIV positive, whether you know it or not.
As of the end of 2005, a total of 40 million people were living with HIV.
Of these, 37.2 million were adults, 17.6 million were women and 2.3 million were children less than 15 years of age.
Total deaths of persons reported with AIDS are 3.1 million.
Since 1985, almost 14,000 people have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in Colorado.
Through the end of October 2004, there were 32 new cases of HIV/AIDS diagnosed during the year in El Paso County. |
Of all these cases, 100% were members of our families, friends, and communities.
With HIV positive people living longer, there is an increasing need for ongoing support, as well as an increasing need for prevention and education.
It’s not over yet. |
